Elevate Your Career and Improve Your Quality of Life with Expert Executive Coaching.

Build confidence, reduce stress, maximize your potential, and achieve a healthy life balance with “Attending the Physician”.

Attending the Physician is not just a play on words; it’s a call to prioritize your own well-being!

Jim worked with me at a difficult point in my career and helped me to focus on my mission and purpose in life and medicine. I am very grateful for his empathy, listening skills and wisdom and the pathway he has created to help physicians and other professionals evaluate their journey and understand where God is leading them. He knows the difficulties facing working professionals today and helps to identify our roadblocks and build on our strengths, values and goals.

How it Works

1. You’re already aware of what the challenges are and the areas that need improvement. The problem is you may not know what to do about it.

2. The next step in the process is to set up a free 1:1 discovery call where we can discuss your situation and determine if Attending the Physician coaching program is a good fit for you.

3. During this initial call, we will clarify your overall goals. Once we have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish, we’ll create an action plan that’s best suited to your specific needs.

4. To make meaningful progress, each coaching package consists of 12 sessions.

FAQs

How often do we meet?

The frequency of our meetings depends on your schedule and your specific challenges, goals, and needs. Most clients initially find value in meeting every other week. However, for some clients, once a month works fine.

Please remember that all coaching engagements come with ongoing communication throughout the month with quick spot calls, check-ins, and emails to celebrate wins and address roadblocks in real time.

How long is each coaching session?

Typically, a coaching session will last between 45 to 60 minutes.

How does privacy/confidentiality work?
Rest assured that any information shared with me will be kept strictly confidential. I adhere to the professional ethics and guidelines set by the International Coaching Federation, which you can find on their website (www.coachfederation.org).
The core principle is that the content of our coaching conversations remains private between us unless we agree otherwise. One exception to this would be in the case of a referral, where sharing goals and progress reviews with stakeholders may be necessary if there is a sponsoring entity other than you.

How is coaching different from therapy?

While there are some similarities between coaching and counseling, they are very different activities, and it’s important to understand how they are distinct.

The purpose of psychotherapy (counseling) is to alleviate a particular psychological or emotional problem or work through some form of brokenness. In this sense, counseling deals with healing issues from the past.

Alternatively, coaching is forward-thinking; it involves me partnering with you professionally and personally to help you meet specific, tangible goals.

How will I know if the coaching is working?

During the coaching process, it is crucial to assess the effectiveness of our collaborative partnership and your accomplishments. Regular communication and evaluation of progress will ensure that your goals and objectives are successfully achieved.

Is coaching worth it for what I want to achieve?

The answer to that depends on the cost of your current hurdles and the impact of resolving them. While coaching may not be suitable for every situation, it is highly impactful and a valuable investment. The clients I work with report improved mood and confidence and a renewed sense of purpose through coaching.

Can I still secure you as a coach if we can't meet in person?

Yes.  Sessions can be conducted in person, through video calls (Zoom), or traditional phone calls, either individually or in groups.

What is your coaching approach?

My coaching approach is centered on achieving your desired results through self-directed learning. We will collaboratively uncover what matters most to you and align it with your desired outcomes. All principles, techniques, resources, and skill development, informed by research in cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, change principles, and adult learning theory, will provide us with a comprehensive and practical approach to achieving your goals.

Why do new clients begin with a block of sessions?

Whether your goals are concrete or more abstract, they often involve sustained effort over time. My coaching approach acknowledges that learning, developing, and establishing productive habits takes time. A block of sessions helps us better collaborate, plan, and coach toward your desired outcomes.

Jim has walked with me through both personal and professional challenges. His insightful questions have provided a fresh perspective, and he offers an array of tools to equip you to navigate life’s challenges.
